- Use the state insurance department’s license lookup. It shows whether the license is active and, in many states, the lines of authority: the kinds of insurance the agent may sell.
- What does “license on record” mean on this site?
- It means a profile shows a license status taken from one of these official lookups, with the date we checked it. We never mark a business as licensed without that record.
